It’s estimated that more than 3.2 million UK households welcomed a dog during the pandemic, and now those puppies are ready to venture out on their very first family holidays, making staycations with added pup appeal a top priority.
Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels is offering free stays for dogs in November through to March 2022, plus a host of other ‘bone-usses’ for four-legged friends including a free video consultation with Video Vets Now as part of this partnership (worth £24). Designed for non-emergency situations, Video Vets Now is a video consultation service that allows pet owners to chat to one of their qualified vets in a matter of minutes, no matter they are in the UK.
As well as receiving a puppy pack, guests will also get a ‘tail-ored’ guide to the best dog-friendly spots in and around their hotel, and top tips for travelling with a dog from animal behaviourist Emma Hogarth from Let’s Talk Behaviour.
Nic Oldham, Head of Customer and Commercial at Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, said: “We understand the massive part that our pets play in the family, and that this year especially it might be important to bring your four-legged friend on holiday with you, after over a year and a half by their side.
“Our resorts have so much to offer, and not just for humans – our locations have some of the best dog walks, with the most beautiful scenery and even dog-friendly cafes and bars nearby.
Dave Leicester, head of telehealth, who looks after a team of experienced video vets at UK’s leading emergency vets, Vets Now, said:
“When holidaying with our pets we naturally venture into the great outdoors more frequently. However, there’s always hidden hazards and risks for our pets so it’s important to be aware.
“This is why we have a dedicated hazards hub on our website, designed to help pet owners learn more about hidden hazards and help prevent some emergencies from happening in the first place.”
He added: “And remember: for non-emergencies, re-assurance and advice when away in the UK, we are always just a tap away with our Video Vets Now video consultation service.”
